About Me

Hi! My name is Mia Thompson, and I am from Corpus Christi, Texas. I am currently a Junior at Texas Christian University, studying Strategic Communication with minors in Writing as Rhetoric and Criminal Justice. I am passionate about helping brands build meaningful connections with their audiences and plan to pursue a career in Public Relations after graduation. Recognized for being dependable, detail-oriented, and driven, I approach each task with a hardworking mindset. I’m very eager to grow, I love to learn and am always looking for ways to expand my skills!

The Strategic Communication program at TCU covers a wide range of subjects that have inspired me to embrace creativity and apply it to both my academic and professional work. The smaller class sizes have given me the opportunity to build strong relationships with my professors and get the most out of each course. In addition, my experience working in retail and restaurant roles over the past four years has shaped my work ethic and strengthened my reliability. To prepare for the future, I plan to continue seeking out new experiences and opportunities to grow. I am currently taking courses such as Writing & Editing, Design, Multimedia Authoring, Diversity, and Research to further develop my skills. In the spring, I will be studying abroad in Barcelona, Spain, which will allow me to immerse myself in a new culture and gain a deeper understanding of communication on a global scale.
